Kristina Denise is a Communications Specialist, writer, blogger and plus size model, based in the Washington D.C metro area. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, after which she worked as a front line manager for Capital One Services, Inc. However, her desire to pursue a communications career prompted her to leave the financial world for graduate pursuits at the University of Maryland, where she earned a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
Ms. Bigby is a contributing author to Chicken Soup for the Soul: Curvy and Confident, published December 2016. In 2008, Ms. Bigby worked on State staff for Obama for America, acting as a deputy on constituent outreach. In addition to her full time 
communication and public relations position, Kristina is a leading body positive advocate and coined the phrase #fortheloveofcurves. She explores body confidence and positive self esteem on her blog, www.curvygirlchronicles.net, where she shares stories of body acceptance and self-love and spotlights inspirational female entrepreneurs.
