The “Rules of Fashion” tell us what to wear and how to dress for our body type, age, and lifestyle.  For plus size women, these “rules” shame us out of wearing certain things that we love (like colors, stripes, and sheath silhouettes) and into wearing other things that mask, contort, and smooth our bodies. But thankfully, plus size retailers, bloggers, and stylistas are pushing the fashion envelope and setting a new standard for getting dressed. They’re throwing the rules out the window in favor of celebrating your body and personal style by wearing what you love, not what society tells you to wear.

Bold prints are one of those long-rumored fashion don’ts that give many women pause when it comes to wearing them. Why? Because you’ll just draw attention to yourself! Prints only make you look bigger, and who wants that?! They’re too loud and brash! Well to this I say Hogwash!

To share my love of bold prints and show you just how versatile they can be, I’ve styled a printed wrap dress three ways.

Look #1: Out and About

A denim jacket is a fool-proof way to dress down a look and break up a large block of print. Pairing the dress with a colorful statement necklace shows off my quirky style and fashion motto: more is definitely more.

Look #2: At the Office

Black accessories ground this look and keep it polished and sophisticated for the office. Assertive, confident looks are totally workplace-appropriate.

Look #3: On the Tow

Gold accessories bring a touch of glam to a printed day dress, transitioning it to evening. Lightly-colored accessories brighten the look, making it feel airy, feminine, and flirty.

Prints are a celebration of color, pattern, and personality, and no woman should feel excluded from a particular print just because of her size.
