Ahhhh, spring how I love thee! Spring is definitely my favorite season: the weather starts to warm up, the flowers bloom, and I get to wear more of my favorite items of clothing, dresses. And my toes are finally free again – bring on the sandals!
I love a great dress because there are so many different silhouettes, prints, and colors to choose from. And it is an instant outfit; you don’t have to worry about putting multiple pieces together to create a look. Add a cute shoe and a pair of earrings or a necklace and you automatically look polished and stylish.
As a size 26/28 I know it can be harder to find options that fit, but don’t worry, I’ve got you! My top brands for dresses are Lane Bryant, Torrid, ELOQUII and Full Beauty. Lane Bryant and ELOQUII carry up to a size 28, and Torrid and Full Beauty carry up to a size 30 and 34 respectively. These brands hit the mark for me because they offer a wide variety of options with a consistent fit, great price points, and good quality. I also like to shop indie designers like JIBRI, Christian Omeshun, Lorenza James by Elle Dove, Courtney Noelle, and new designer Generose. They all offer up to a size 28 or 32 and they will make pieces custom to your measurements.
This spring I expect to see a lot of florals, both dark and light; pastels; bright hues; and graphic prints mixed with moto jackets, denim, intricate details, lace, and a lot of white. And with Pantone’s Color of the Year being Ultra Violet, a range of purple hues will be out in full force.
One of the most common questions I get is where do I buy my sandals? Extended sizes, wide, and extra wide sandals can be a challenge to find. My absolute go-to brand is Comfort View by Full Beauty. They have a huge selection and their sandals are also available in half sizes. My other top brands would be Avenue, Simply Be, Zappos, and Shoes.com.
