Living Your Dreams in the New Year by Georgee Low plus happiness

This is the season for holiday parties, connecting with friends and loved ones, and shaking your tail feathers!

The closer it gets to the New Year, we start to think about how we are going to make the upcoming year different.  Then come the New Year’s resolutions. More exercise, healthier eating, quit smoking, give up alcohol, change careers, you know the drill.  This year, I want to invite you to try something else.  What if this year could be your dream year?  Go into 2017 with the intention to make a dream come true.   Think of something that you have always wanted to be, do or have.

What is ONE thing that has always been there, nagging away at you? For me it was Mt. Everest.  Ever since I was a little girl, I have had a “thing” for Everest and didn’t really know why.

In February of 2013, I began wondering if I was really living my best life now.  Was I really being the example I wanted to be for my kids? I finally decided to act on it.  So I booked a trip to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp. At this point, I was not a hiker. In fact, my outdoor adventure activity was pretty much zero.

The moment I was on the tiny little airplane, flying from Kathmandu to Lukla, was unlike any other I had ever experienced. Looking out the window of that tiny plane and seeing the magnificent Himalayas for the very first time was pure magic. I sat there with tears in my eyes as waves of emotions so unexpectedly flooded through me.  You see, I knew this was a dream come true moment and I wanted to savour every sensation of it.  Even more, I wanted every person in the world to be able to have this experience.

As we move into 2018, I encourage you to include a dream with your resolutions.  What would a dream come true moment be for you? Write it down and begin to plan it. Even if you have no idea how it’s going to happen, start the process.   plus happiness
