fabUplus Magazine: Describe your personal style. What are some of your signature colors, styles, and accessories?
Carine Calixte: I’m all about comfort, but with statement pieces such as hats, jewelry, and bold sneakers.
fabUplus Magazine: Please tell us a little about your photoshoot for the photos you are submitting.
Carine Calixte: I’ve known the photographer for years, and we were long overdue for some fun together! I called her up and she had really cool location ideas she’s been dying to shoot at, and I worked on styling. Iris and I just click; it’s always a vibe when we get together and that comes through in the images.
fabUplus Magazine: What are some tips you’d like to share with aspiring influencers or models?
Carine Calixte: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Whether it’s posing, makeup, or getting comfortable being in front of a camera.
fabUplus Magazine: If you could go back in time and give yourself advice as a little girl, what would you tell her?
Carine Calixte: Don’t be so hard on yourself, give yourself grace. You were made in God’s image and He is pleased.
fabUplus Magazine: For our readers who struggle with being comfortable in their own skin and wearing what they want, what are some practical things you would recommend they do to help them get to the level of confidence you have?
Carine Calixte: Work on realizing that you have to live for yourself — wear what you want! Have daily affirmations, tell yourself how beautiful you are, and appreciate what your body helps you accomplish.
fabUplus Magazine: What does life look like for you outside of blogging or modeling (day job, hobbies, family life, etc)?
Carine Calixte: I’m a mother to two beautiful boys. They bring soooo much joy to my life; I am truly blessed. I’m also a chef — cooking is another artistic way I can express myself.
fabUplus Magazine: What does being an influencer or model mean to you? What do you hope it means to others?
Carine Calixte: Growing up I loved fashion, but I never saw models that looked like me or were relatable. I hope that I can do that for others.
fabUplus Magazine: Do you have a message you want to leave with our readers?
Carine Calixte: Take up all the space!! You deserve to be seen, heard, and respected. Make your peace of mind non-negotiable.
