Model Monday- Meet Maggie Erickson
Maggie Erickson is a young woman with a wonderful, active life. She is an aspiring model and active community volunteer. Maggie grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota and works for the Minnesota Twins in Premium Guest Services, for the MN Vikings US Bank Stadium in guest services and is an active Special Olympics athlete.
She got her start in modeling doing fashion shows and photo shoots with ARC of Minnesota. To work on her modeling, she watched Project Runway and learned from working with Molly King at ARC. Maggie models so that the world can see that plus-size women are happy and beautiful. “Many other women look just like us and can feel proud,” said Maggie. “Many young women with Down syndrome are plus-sized and look fabulous in clothes.”
Maggie’s advice to those who are interested in starting a modeling career is to “Keep in shape, eat healthy, drink lots of water. Practice model-walking. Tell everyone you know that you want to be a model.”
