Diane Kennedy and her company Cherry Velvet Plus, produce retro-inspired dresses in sizes from XS to 4X promoting beauty and fashion whatever your size. Cherry Velvet Plus looks at making quality, cheeky dresses, and makes them available in 10 different sizes, so this is fashion inclusivity at it’s finest.

Diane was always interested in fashion and this interest turned into a passion at a very early age. She had her own sewing machine at the age of just 4 and signed up for fashion school when she was in Grade 9. As a plus size person Diane found that there was a gap in the market for clothes that fit and flattered bigger women. That was where the inspiration to produce her beautiful dresses came from. When someone with passion and determination spots a niche in the market then they are often the one to fill that niche.

Diane Kennedy has found inspiration in the fact that many other designers don’t or won’t carry plus sizes in their clothing lines. Her attitude is “well if they don’t then I will”. When you see quality clothing that is ethically made by a beautiful and determined woman then you can’t help but sit up and take notice.
