Being Confident is about the connection between mind, body and spirit by Naila Bhimji

plus healthBeing confident is about your relationship and connection between your mind, body and spirit. Most of us focus on either our outside appearance or on working on our personal development. But what about food and living a healthy lifestyle, and walking out with the self-assurance of knowing that you’re doing the best you can for your health and wellbeing?

Changes don’t have to be big or drastic. There are small adjustments that can be made right away to put you on the path to health, radiance and confidence. Here are my top three tips.

  1. Drink more water. Water helps to energize, flush out toxins, and helps the digestive system function optimally. Take your body weight and divide it in half. This is how many ounces of water you should aim to drink in a day.
  1. Eat a healthy breakfast no more than an hour upon waking up. This will rebalance your blood sugar and jumpstart your metabolism for an energetic day. Try to avoid a heavily carb based breakfast, you will want to go high protein here.
  1. Eat a variety of different colored fruits and vegetables every day. Fruits and veggies provide important nutrients and phytochemicals that help balance mood, reduce stress and are anti-aging. Whenever you budget allows buy organic, and try to go for locally grown food as it will be fresher and therefore have more nutritional value.
