I have been so afraid of wearing white as a plus size woman. I’ve always heard that it makes us look bigger but seeing you in that white Maxi dress in your recent blog post truly inspired me to try it out. What are your tips for wearing white? – Trying New Things in Georgia

It took some time for me to get used to the idea of wearing white. For me, the keywords for wearing white are fit and flow. Whether it’s a top or a dress, when I wear white, I like the garment to flow and have movement.  Bright coloured accessories or a bold lip colour also help make white look trendier.

I know this advice column is about fashion but I read your blog and I love your makeup choices as well. I’m a beginner with makeup and we are about the same complexion. What are some of your favorite lipsticks/glosses? Which ones would you recommend for beginners?  – Ashley from Louisiana

I am in no way a professional. My favourite lipsticks are Kat Von D Lolita, Coloured Raine Ooh Lala, Mac Ruby Woo, and ColourPop Bedazzled. There are drugstore dupes for all of these as well…try Milani Matte Confident, Milani Matte Naked, and Milani Teddy Bare.

Hello I am currently revamping my workwear for the upcoming Fall season. Where would you start with buying an entirely new wardrobe for work? What pieces do you think would be essential?   – Cindy from Oklahoma

I would start off with the basics. You need items that you can mix and match to maximize your wardrobe. I would get a black midi pencil skirt, a black skater or circle style skirt, a white button-down top, a pair of dress pants, a comfortable pair of black pumps, a comfortable pair of nude pumps, one pair of dark denim jeans, a black blazer, some flats in different colors and prints, and a peplum top. You can mix and match different tops with the skirts or pants separately…..and even incorporate your blazer after hours with a pair of jeans for a business casual look.
