That’s where Superfit Hero comes in. They are a body-positive, size-inclusive brand of athletic apparel that doesn’t see size as a barrier to fitness. Their mission is to get more women interested in their own fitness by producing clothing that inspires confidence in the woman wearing their gear – this in turn makes them more likely to work out.

Inspired to develop Superfit Hero 10 years ago, Micki Krimmel has seen exercise as an activity that women could do to improve fitness rather than the traditional view of trying to lose weight. She saw that the fitness clothing retailers were geared to the smaller woman and did not cater for women over an average size. Superfit Hero is specially designed based on Micki’s research to combat some of the regular complaints woman have about their fitness wear. From a high, adjustable waistband to the right fabrics to help women feel like they aren’t even sweating. The line is made to get women feeling confident about themselves and this inspires them to go and work out, rather than feeling that they don’t belong in a gym. Being an entrepreneur is not a new thing for Micki. Her advice to the budding entrepreneur includes setting goals that are not purely based on the financial success of your company. If you define success as vacations and fancy restaurants, then you won’t become successful. Superfit Hero has just delivered a successful Kickstarter campaign that has received a lot of support and attention.The future for plus size women in sports is a bright one. It is because of trailblazers like Micki Krimmel that ordinary women are able to feel confident enough to exercise and take care of their fitness.
