The arrival of summer is always an exciting time – longer days, lots of sun, and great times with family and friends enjoying all the fun things to do. But for plus size women it can also cause some anxiety as summer is also the season to shed your comfortable cozy layers and bare more skin.

I’m not just talking about bathing suits either ladies, because let’s face it, that’s a whole other issue! The problem is that, for so long now, we have been conditioned to think that because we’re fat we have to cover up, that showing skin makes us less attractive. I completely disagree because the right outfit will look fabulous no matter how much skin you show. And if you love it, then all the better!

I hear from so many of you wishing you had the confidence to wear some of the clothes I wear… and so this is my challenge to you: Break out of your comfort zone and try it! Wear it around the house at first, then maybe in front of your family and friends that are supportive. Then embrace the whole world and forget about the naysayers because how you feel is the only thing that matters.
One of the reasons I started my blog was to push myself outside of my own comfort zone. So take some inspiration from some of the looks that I’ve worn and never thought I would. I can’t wait to see what I’ll try this year.
