Wear Your Heart On Your Sleeve (or chest, or back, or wherever)

Using graphic tees to motivate, inspire, and encourage your inner bad ass (and those around you!) This will be a fashion editorial on how graphic tees became my staple wardrobe choice, especially when doing professional speaking, meeting with clients, etc.

Ever since I was in junior high, I have been searching for MY style. I had friends who could wear the latest trends and blend in perfectly, but whenever I tried I ended up looking like a hot mess. Part of the reason, I think, was that I was trying too hard to be like everyone else, when in reality I could really only be myself (something that took my until my late 20s to figure out!). Thanks to social media, my ability to search out a "style" became much easier than trying on too-small clothes that I would ultimately hulk out of in a dark changing room. Instagram became my shopping mall and I found myself loving on other body image activists and feminists and realized that a lot of them had really rad t-shirts that told you exactly what they were feeling…without actually saying anything (perfect for this extroverted-introvert!).

Suddenly, I found myself purchasing tees with quotes that seemed to sum me up perfectly and shout my mission to the world! From feminism, to bad moods, to my love for tacos, there were shirts for every mood, mantra, and feeling I experienced. Owning my own business means I get to set my own dress code, and the majority of my business clothes have been replaced by cute tees with sassy sayings and fun skirts! I have become known for having “loud” t-shirts and when I am NOT wearing one, people will point it out.

When I am having a less-than- spectacular body image day, I will rock a shirt that reminds me that I am so much more than a body. If I have a big talk I am giving, I will wear the shirt that clearly states my mission of body positivity, or when I photograph my babely boudoir clients I rock my sassier/sex positive tees. Being yourself truly and authentically will always be in style, so I highly recommend proudly wearing your heart, mood, and feelings on your sleeve, chest, or back, to let the world know exactly who you are and what you stand for!
