Name: Erica Scott, Influencer

Instagram: @erica.paige.scott

fabUplus Magazine: How did you get started as an influencer?

Erica Scott: I started to blog during the pandemic. This gave me an opportunity to try my hand at content creating! What kind of content do you create, and what’s your main channel? I create lifestyle content about my everyday life and being able to share my struggles, accomplishments, and how I am making a difference during these crazy times we are living in. My main channel is Instagram.

fabUplus Magazine: Describe your personal style. What are some of your signature colors, styles, and accessories?

Erica Scott: I would describe my fashion as casual because I love a good pair of jeans and a cute top that I can wear with sneakers and then transition to heels for a nice night out. My signature colors are navy, yellow, and light pinks.

fabUplus Magazine: What are some tips you’d like to share with aspiring influencers or models?

Erica Scott: I would like to let influencers know who your audience is and to be consistent.

fabUplus Magazine: If you could go back in time and give yourself advice as a little girl, what would you tell her?

Erica Scott: I would tell her that to continue to be kind, try not to worry about things you can’t control, and one of your career dreams will come true so don’t change a thing about yourself.

fabUplus Magazine: For our readers who struggle with being comfortable in their own skin and wearing what they want, what are some practical things you would recommend they do to help them get to the level of confidence you have?

Erica Scott: Not to be so hard on yourself. Everyone has something they don’t like about themselves. Try to be thankful for all the positive attributes you have and others will notice. Also never be afraid to talk about things with a licensed therapist.

fabUplus Magazine: How have you seen the fashion, retail, or modeling industry change in the past decade – specifically with regards to diversity and inclusivity?

Erica Scott: I have definitely seen fashion and retail changes. I have been in the fashion/retail industry for 8 years. Both of my bachelors and masters in fashion business merchandising do I have been companies be more aware of being inclusive and also I have seen brands that do not care and have been canceled. For the industry to start to give more variety to all women has given me hope that fashion is being receptives to all women.

fabUplus Magazine: What are some of your favorite shopping and styling tips?

Erica Scott: My favorite shopping tips is to second-hand shops. Fashion always repeats itself as well as trends. So If you second hand shop at a thrift store you can definitely find some good deals and unique pieces. Also shop at stores that are ethically conscious about the environment as well as diversity.

fabUplus Magazine: What does beauty mean to you?

Erica Scott: Meaning that you should take care of yourself and whatever look you serve wear it with pride.
